FAQs
- How long will the cooling scarf keep me cool?
Cooling will depend on a number of factors including the ambient temperature and humidity, whether the cooling gel packs have been completely frozen, and your level of activity. In general, a frozen gel pack will provide about an hour worth of cooling when doing moderate exercises such as walking and perhaps longer if at rest (e.g. after a workout).
- What is the proper way to put on the cooling scarf?
When holding out the scarf, the side with the loop should be touching your neck and, on the left, if you are right-handed (for easier threading) or on the right if you are left-handed.
To affix the scarf, you can choose simply to insert of the scarf ends into the loop or you can decide to tie the ends. You may also choose to then slip the ends into your shirt or leave the ends out like any other scarf.
- Why does the package come with 2 cooling gel packs?
The cooling scarf is designed so that cooling gel inserts can be easily inserted/swapped out as necessary. Wearing one while freezing the spare allows for a continuous cycle of cooling.
- How should I freeze the cooling gel inserts?
Simply throw the gel inserts into your standard freezer (-2C / 28F or lower) and they should be ready to use again in about 2 hours.
- How do I wash and care for the scarf?
The scarf is machine washable with standard laundry detergent but we recommend washing at cooler washer temperatures (40C / 104F) and not using any strong cleansers.
Do not bleach.
Care instructions are sewn onto the scarf for easy reference.
- Is the carrying case a part of the cooling system?
Yes! The carrying case is insulated and can be used to transport spare frozen cooling get inserts for extended cooling.
NOTE: To keep cooling gel-inserts in the case a cold as possible, be sure to zip the carrying case zipper to the end leaving as small an opening as possible.
